Dining

  • The Rendezvous: Memphis is known for its barbeque, and you can’t go far without stumbling across a restaurant smelling of smoke and offering up ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, and tender brisket. There are countless places to try, but we suggest starting at Charles Vergos’ Rendezvous. Operating out of a basement off an alley in downtown Memphis since 1948, Rendezvous serves their signature dry rub ribs to locals, tourists, and celebrities alike.

  • Paulette’s: Paulette’s has been a Memphis favorite for 40 years, and for good reason. Located near the river in the scenic community of Harbor Town, it’s the perfect place for business meetings, romantic dinners, and gatherings with family and friends. The food is delicious – don’t miss the hot popovers with strawberry butter – the wine menu is fabulous, and the service is unparalleled.

Destination Guide To Memphis

  • Flight Restaurant and Wine Bar: Flight offers small plates of beautifully prepared food served in flights of 3 as well as wine flights specially designed to pair perfectly with the food. Try a flight of steak (filet, elk, and bison), a flight of soup (lobster bisque, seafood gumbo, and a soup of the day) and end with a flight of dessert (too many amazing options to list). An innovative approach and a memorable experience.

  • Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen: An elegant setting with multiple rooms, a cozy bar, and open-air eating near the herb and vegetable gardens, Andrew Michael features innovative Italian cooking rooted in Southern tradition. Their house made pastas and locally sourced meats shine, and their staff makes excellent suggestions to appease multiple palates. Try their special “no-menu” tasting dinner on the last Monday of each month for a special treat.

Entertainment/Nightlife

  • Beale Street: No guide to Memphis would be complete without mention of this iconic home of the Blues.
